Little River, Freeport, Maine
Little River, Freeport, Maine

At first, this front lit scene, near the head waters of the Little River in Freeport, Maine, appeared to be problematic.  But, by shifting my location I was able to take advantage of the screening effect of the overhead branches.  Direct sunlight was shielded my lens, allowing me to make this photograph without concern about flare.  Early spring green foliage, reflected in the water, helps define the water path into the woods.
