Exploring local locations for photos for our new book on the built-environment in the High Peaks region of Maine, we finally found this extraordinary mill ruin. It is in far northern Franklin County, and we wouldn’t have discovered it without the help of a most accommodating border crossing officer at the Coburn Gore station. Apparently it was a mill of some sort. The moon was an added bit of serendipity. If anyone has information about the history of this place please contact us. #coburngoremaine #millruinmaine #historymaine #mainehistory #mainetheway #orcuttphotography #archeologicalphotography #downeastmagazine John Orcutt November 12, 2019 Instagram Continue Reading
