We have photographed this rock, which we call, “Lone Rock” several times in the past at Wolfes Neck in Freeport, Maine. A few days ago we tried again, when we stayed overnight at the campground at Wolfes Neck. #wolfesneckcampground #orcuttphotography #freeportmaine #coastalgeology October 8, 2022 When commenting on his painting, Mount Katahdin from Millinocket Camp, Frederic Edwin Church, the acclaimed Hudson River School painter of the 19th century, exclaimed that he had never seen the color, orange so vivid in the natural landscape.
